That's just seems to be how set coordinators roll. For the last 20 years, whenever Hollywood needed to show streamlined design tech, they'd usually resort to B&O because it's mainstream enough and looks good. You could even find a Beosound3000 in Monica and Rachel's apartment on Friends even it it would be unlikely that this was something they could afford (then again, so is renting an apartment in Greenwich Village).
Seems very likely that a Matrix anno 2011 would also resort to iPhones rather than the Nokia's they used back then. For the time being, iPhone's are mainstream enough and looks good.
