Those 4-digit values are ANSI Code, not ASCII (which has at most 3 digits
after the alt key).

Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] adding accent marks with JAWS
you could add the accented word to the jaws
dictionary and as someone mentioned some are
readily available with jawskey plus numrow4 and
you down arrow through the list that comes up to
select the one you wish to use. the only other
way to create the special characters is to use
the alt key and turning numlock on and typing in
the ascii value of the character where needed.
for example รก (a acute) is created by holding
down the alt key and with numlock on typing 0225 and then releasing the
altkey.

Is there a way to have JAWS automatically add accent marks in a foreign
language word when writing in English?
For example, if I were to write the name Therese which is a French name but
I am writing the document in English, can the correct accent marks be
either added or automatically set to add any time I write the name?
If I need to add them manually, how can I locate them on the keyboard? Not
all of them are on the standard typing keyboard.
Hope this makes sense.
Thanks.
