When I've received those, it is a browser pop-up window.

I shut down the computer and ran several scans with different anti-virus programs, and it never detected anything.

I think it is a phishing scam to try to get you to call their number for support, which will then charge you and then take over control of your computer and install who-knows-what.

I would get a second opinion on that.

Follow Up on the previous message. I found out how to get the information.
It was in Windows Defender. Now, my question has changed. How do I quarantine a virus in Defender? Thanks.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Virus Warning

Morning all.
Using Jaws 2018 and Windows 10 on a dell laptop, has anyone ever gotten a message from “Microsoft” stating something about a virus? The voice on the message was feminine, and British. And it gave a toll free number to call, or it will disable my laptop. It said something about sending my information to an unknown IP address. Unfortunately, mornings for us are at best hectic and I was not able to determine whether it was credible or not. I also would like to know of there is a way to get previous notifications regarding issues such as this. Thanks in advance Jerry For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit:
