I'm assuming you mean Version 8.0.  Okay.  That program scans both inbound 
and outbound e-mail.  Usually it does it in the background and doesn't 
bother you.  If your Jaws is picking up a brief message that comes across 
the screen, that's probably what is jamming you up KK.  Did you try the 
other suggestions such as refreshing  the screen or re-starting Jaws when it 
hangs up like that?
