Mike,

What I'm saying is that, unless you are always getting nagged every time you restart your computer, though you got no comfirmation, the thing probabbly got installed. the Web site issue is probably separate from that.

Hi Flor;

Thank you sir for the helpful tips. Jaws reads the lettered buttons so it is not a problem clicking those but, I did not get any kind of error message and no confirmation / percentages messages. From my understanding the first " I " button is for accepting the license agreement and the 2nd " I " button is for the install. This is what I'm getting from my wife telling me what is happening as she is clicking on the buttons with the mouse. What I don't understand is why Jaws, both versions, locked up the way they did on the
Adobe website. Thanks again, take care.
Mike

Mike,

How do you *know* the first steps of pressing the 'button', then
pressing the i button and pressing it again, didn't work? Did you get
an error message? It would be important to know that message, if you
did. You won't really get a confirmation message if successful. Next
time you are asked to install Adobe Flash updates, try toggling Screen
Echo to All text - insert+s. Unless the accessibility is changed, With the above-mentioned buttons pressed in sequence, you'll hear percentages
along the way. Also remember, 5the i button (when highlighted) is
probably the one to go with. If you mistakenly press the Q button,
you'll quit. (These buttons are in a tab dialogue.)

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Adobe Update

Hi All;

I just tried updating Adobe when I received their update window. I
tried
using the steps outlined by a fellow list member. The steps are
below.
By guesswork I am able to install flash myself.
The one that just says "button" is the important one. Press this, then
press the "i" button. When done press the "i" button again.
The above steps didn't work. Then I tried the suggestion below.

You can bypass this problem by going to the Adobe website, and
installing
the latest version from the website after entering on the
accessibility link

Well, when I clicked on the accessability link, trying this with both
Jaws10
& Jaws11 latest, they both locked up tighter than a frogs but at high
tide.
I couldn't Alt + F4 out or anything else I tried didn't work. The
only way
that I could get Jaws working again was doing a hard reboot with both
Jaws
versions. Has anyone else had any success withthe the above
suggestions in
updating Adobe? If so, how did you achieve it? I am running Jaws10 &
11
latest with XP Home. All help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
much.
Take care.
Mike
