Hi Gerald,
Follow the steps below. This is what I would do after updating my NVIDIA
video card, & I sure as hell will never update that damn thing again! LOL
LOL
When you get the Video Intercept error after reinstalling Jaws or updating
video cards do the
following;
1. Go to Freedom Scientifics website, find the FSVideoIntercept-32bit or
64bit.exe, which ever 1 is appropriate for your system. Download and save
it somewhere on your harddrive that you will be able to access it easily.
The direct download links for both 32bit and 64bit systems are below.
Click
on your appropriate link.
ftp://ftp.freedomscientific.com/users/hj/private/WebFiles/Tools/FSVideoIntercept-32bit.exe
ftp://ftp.freedomscientific.com/users/hj/private/WebFiles/Tools/FSVideoIntercept-64bit.exe
2. Go to Control Panel / Add or Remove Programs, press enter, and wait for
the programs list to populate / show up.
3. Arrow down to the Freedom Scientific Admin Tool , tab to remove, press
the spacebar, and if asked if you want to remove its shared components say
yes.
4. Now reboot the computer.
5. When the computer reboots and that Video Intercept error message
appears,
exit out of the message.
6. Now, go to where you saved the FSVideoIntercept-32bit or 64bit.exe,
highlight it, and press enter to run it. After running the Video
Intercept,
reboot the computer if prompted to do so.
Running this will reinstall the Admin Tool that you removed earlier and
everything should work fine. Hope this helps. Take care. I surely hope
your New Year starts out a whole lot better than this 1 is ending! LOL
LOL
Well, I guess that isn't funny after all!
Mike

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Really Screwed Things Up
Happy New Year, gang. Boy, I really screwed things up attempting to
clean
up my computer for the new year. File Hippo Update Checker showed that my
version of NVIDA Forceware was not the latest version, so like a dope I
when
ahead and downloaded and installed the latest version. I then rebooted my
computer. But I got an error message that Windows had encountered a
serious
problem and needed to close to protect my computer, so I rebooted again.
This time, JAWS came up talking, but to my dismay, when I read messages in
OE, JAWS no longer announces the "From" and "Subject" fields. Only the
text
of the message is read. So I restartedJAWS and got a Video Intercept
dialog
box that asked me to install the video intercept, which I presume is
related
to my installation of NNVIDA. But when I hit the execute button to
restart
my computer and install the video intercept, I again got the error message
that Windows had encountered a serious problem and needed to close.......
So I rebooted a third thime, got JAWS back and attempted to perform a
System
Restore. But I was unable to perform a successful restore with any of the
restore points I selected. I tried restore points from yesterday, the day
before, and the day before that, but none of them worked. Now every time
I
start JAWS, I get the video intercept dialog, and in addition to my email
messages not being spoken correctly, the JAWS cursor doesn't work, and I
cannot read the Status bar , among other glitches probably related to the
video intercept problem. If I can't successfully install the video
intercept or perform a System Restore, what can I do to fix this problem?
I'm almost certain that this trouble is related to my updating of NVIDA
Forceware. I'm running JAWS 9 with XP Pro. I hope I'm making sense. I'm
not really too knowledgeable about this kind of problem, so any help would
be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Gerald
