As a point of information, and hopefully my hand won't get slapped here, JAWS and Openbook have a locked copy of Eloquence. However, Kurzweil does not. Consequently my NVDA is able to use Eloquence, rather than that awful ESpeak, or whatever it is.

It should be available in 8 as well. It's down near the bottom of the menu.
I know this option is available in version 8 because I used it with that
version. This facility has been available with OCR programs for a while. If
you don't find it, I'd suggest searching the help files for it. Since I
don't have version 8 anymore, that's the best I can do.

I use openbook 8 and I don't find that option, only save and save as. Is
this only available in later versions?

Open Book will do this. You need the option in the file menu that says
"save
to audio."

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a program that will change text
to
speech using Eloquence as the mp3 speech. I have Text Aloud, but it is
only
allowing me to use Sapi 4 and 5. I thought I had done this many years ago
with this same program. I also have Open Book but I haven't found any
conversion options there.

Thanks.
