I use a separate file which is named (company initials) nsc.xreg - This file is picked up and does not get overwritten. Using 1.3a2 Release and Tomcat 4.0.1. Tomcat has to be restarted to pick up any changes to it though. Hope this helps. -Brian

I don't know if you are correct that "jetspeed is suppose to pickup all .xreg files". From an earlier post, I believe it will pickup "all the appropriate" .xreg files. That is to say, all the distributed .xreg files + the local-XXX.xreg files. Might you have read a post where someone stated this as shorthand; by "all .xreg files" the poster probably might have meant the portlets.xreg, local-portlets.xreg, managers.xreg, local-managers.xreg,... Or perhaps support for the kate-portlets.xreg is part of the PortletAPI which is not yet implemented? To be clear, I am not an expert on this feature, I am just suggesting things to try based on what worked for me (not to mention that I have followed this maillist for several years now). But it's better than no replies at all, right? ;) Steve B. ----- Original Message ----- From: "K Sharron" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Jetspeed Users List" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Monday, February 25, 2002 11:05 AM Subject: Re: Jetspeed 1.3a2 can't (won't?) see local-portlets.xreg > Just to clarify ... > > --- sbelt <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > I did exactly the same thing and it did work for me > > (don't you hate replies like that ;) > > > All replies are definitely welcome <g> > > > Just looking at the obvious: how long after > > restarting did you wait to test the changes. > > I think there is a minute-or-2 delay until > > the changes are checked. > > > I worked on this problem all Friday afternoon, and > when I came in this morning and started everything up, > I still couldn't get to my portlets. > > > BTW - I delete the jetspeed.log file everytime I > > reboot. *I* don't use it for anything other than > > debugging, so I don't let it get so big. > > > Good suggestion, I'll do that too. > > > Which file are you "changing" to > > local-portlets.xreg?
