Why Southern Sudan State is at risk! Events in Southern Sudan are
accelerating more faster than viruses invading body organisms. The
different here is that this grim reality is caused by the monolithic,
autocratic regime in Southern Sudan. From the very beginning of this
tribalistic, one-sided, short-sighted regime, I kept telling friends
that we are destined to another war even before the announcement of
the new Independent country, based on the erratic and sometimes under
estimation of the current political facts in the region. The issue of
Abeyei is one example of the short-sightedness of the SPLM leaders,
not to mention the notorious SPLM secretary general, Pagan Amum, who
repeatedly beats the drums of war with the Mundukuru (Arabs) of the
North if they try to mess with Abeyei. At this juncture one would
hypothetically agree that you would go to war when your homeland is
invaded by foreign forces. But in the case of Abeyei, everything is
stipulated in the CPA agreement between the Mundukurus in the North
and the SPLM in the South - that the fate of Abeyei will be determined
by the residents of Abeyei through separate referendum and talks. But
the recent developments in the region as internationally covered,
suggest that the mortal illiteracy among the SPLA personnel might have
been in fact caused the current havoc in the region as testified by UN
officials in the region . Moreover, it is clear as U.N officials put
it, that, the SPLA forces instigated the conflict by attacking a small
U.N force contingent on one hand, and condemning the Sudanese Armed
Forces for over reacting on the other hand. One would wonder, is it
the appropriate time for the SOUTHERNERS at this crucial time of our
life to use hard power rather than soft power of diplomacy until we
get our full international recognition as an independent state and
then go back to claim what we could not achieve during the peace
negotiations? Alphonse Kenyi, USA

President Kiir and inner circle will stand trial some day I am praying
and hoping that some day when there will be true democracy, justice,
and rule of law in the Republic of South Sudan, President Kiir Salva
and his inner circle will stand trial and face justice. President Kiir
and many officials who have been allegedly looting the wealth of our
nation for last 6 years will be charged for misusing of power,
deliberately wasting public funds, and unlawfully making private
financial gains. Mithjwok Akol, USA

I have lost faith in Kiir as leader Brother, you have driven your
argument home, and nailed the fact on the head. Moreover, you have
spoken the mind of vast majority of us. Jallaba have humiliated us big
time, our pride as a nation has seriously been wounded. It kills me to
see criminal Al-Bashier running his dirty mouth every day, and our
president is not willing to response. I could not grasp that fact that
the commander in chief of our armed forces has let the Abayei police
units and SPLA personnel in integrated units battle alone the invasion
forces under ground that Abeyie is not yet a southern territory. Shame
on you, president Kiir, you have let the nation of South Sudan down.
Jallaba have humiliated us big time, and our president is doing
nothing to restore our pride as a nation. Everyday Al-Bashier is
running his dirty mouth, and our president is shutting his mouth up as
nothing happened. We have not been humiliated like this before, not
even when we were fighting on the bush. President Kiir has proven once
and for all he is not suited to lead our nation at this critical time.
If Kiir naively thinks that the United States or any other external
force will drive out Sudan Armed Forces from Abayi, then he is kidding
himself. Kiir must know that president Obama is not a reliable allay
to us. The fact that Obama did not send any official to receive kiir
on his last visit speaks volume. Appeasing the Arab world is on the
top of the Obama Agenda. Therefore, he should not expect Obama to
force out Al-Bashier from Abeyei. The stand that Obama has taken
against Israel since he comes to office should be alarming to Kiir.
The ramification of letting Al-Basheir get away with what he has done
in Abeyei in the name of maintaining peace is unbearable. Today is
Abeyei, tomorrow will be Renk, the day after next will be Bentiu, and
before we know, it will be Juba. Sometime I ask me self: how would Dr.
Garang react to the northern invasion of Abeyei? Should Garang still
be alive today, Al-Bashier would have not dragged his feet about
implementing CPA, let alone invading the Abeyei.

President Kiir, you must know that the people of South have given you
a clear mandate to rule. So please, if you could not carry on their
aspiration and defend the southern territory, then please, get out of
the way and let somebody who has courage to stand up for our rights,
lead us. We, the people of southern Sudan, overwhelmingly voted for
you so you could be our voice and advocate of our rights. I am so
outraged and furious about lack of action from our president's side.
Before, I had greatly admired you as a wise leader, but today you have
proven me wrong. The vast majority of Southerners have lost faith in
you; and from now on you do not have our respect until you restore our
wounded pride. Peter Wuok, USA

Why SPLA set fire to homes in Mankien? I thought the main objective
and purpose of SPLA SOLDIERS were to principally defend our homeland,
ensure the safety and freedom of all our citizens, and also defend the
borders and interests of the state from other nations or groups who
would enforce their will upon us by military means. However, now it
seems like their entire purpose is to kill people and break things,
and burn civilians’ houses into ash!!! Here read: "South Sudan’s army
set fire to over 7,000 homes in Mankien payam [district] of Unity
state after they took the area back from southern rebels on Sunday.
The southern military (SPLA), has been accused by civilians and an
official in Mayom of burning down the villages of Watna Buma, Lony
Buma, Loath Buma and Bore Buma, which are situated south of Mankiem."
South Sudan will hardly be a state if this is how our soldiers are
going to behave! Imagine 100 people dying everyday and yet you never
see a president or Minister of defense on TV condemning what is
happening. Chuol Lieth, USA
