The problem in Abyei should not be taken lightly or without due
consideration. North is illustrating to us what must lead to war if
not discontinued in a form which is necessary to save people of Abyei.
It is time to be joyous and blissful because we have shown the north
that we are no longer part of the north. If this wider rejection in
referendum last year is not acceptable by the north, then I do not see
if friendship comes to blows to be achieved. The reality assures that
we are liberated and unshackled from all forms of random killings we
had for long. We do not want to say that we are readily eager to fight
the north but our truth and wider acceptance of separation has been
seen here and beyond. South Sudan Oyei…Dak Marial Buot, Rumbek Lakes

What did SPLA liberate? Editor, I am very glad for every thing you
have said. I came from South Sudan one month ago and found that our
people have no right there. I am a Southerner and not from Bari tribe.
I have seen how Bari land has been taken from them by crooks who call
themselves liberators. What did SPLA liberate? They fought for unity
of Sudan just because many Southerners realized that SPLA were fooling
them and refused to fight for unity. Due to that reason, Sudan
government was able to bite SPLA's back and captured all those areas
which were captured when they were all together. The South Sudanese
heroes are Joseph Oduho, Samuel Gach Tut, Lokurjang, Kerbenno Kuanyan
etc. We need to unite to get our land back from all these crooks.
Thanks. David B. Pouch, USA
Abyei is cheap route for support It is a matter of common sense that
the regime in Khartoum will use every desperate measures to salvage
its reputation as the regime that caused the break up of the country.
To undo the damage, and to rally the Northern masses behind it, the
cheap route to achieve that is to hang on to Abeyi at any cost
regardless of the CPA blue print in regard to Abeyei. Moreover, they,
the Mundukurus, could not find a best time to show their evil spirit,
but just a month before Southerners finally skinned themselves from
the cancerous body of the so called Sudan. Hence, we as Southerners
aspiring to breath new air just distance away, we should not allow
ourselves to be terrified by the Mundukuru erratic acts, rather, we
should stick to and look forward to the final destination. Remember,
Abeyi is Southern territory no matter what they the Mundukuru say and
Southerners will reclaim it sooner or later after independence. So
far, what we need at this crucial moment is that we have to rely on
diplomacy regardless of their aggressions because their last hope is
to put our independence in limbo by dragging us back to war. In the
end, to go back to war or not, rests solely in the hands of the SPLM
leadership. Alphonse Kenyi, USA
Fight for Abyei sooner than later Mr. Isaiah Abraham, We all know that
the Khartoum regime is ready for war, but the reason to why the
Government of South Sudan is not taking action against the Northern
army in Abyei is not because we are afraid of war, but finding a way
to tackle the invading army which is currently in Abyei. I believe you
have been in war, and you know better how we do things before. We in
the Government of South Sudan will not let Abyei go with North unless
they changed the name; otherwise if it is being call Abyei then we
shall fight by all means with Bashir Government sooner than later. The
Abyei problem is a National duty that is why you hear everywhere that
some states in Southern Sudan are donating relief to their brothers
and sisters who are forced to leave Abyei by SAF soldiers. Wait and
see, we shall crush them one by one like the way people eats the dates
or groundnuts. Bashir has exhausted all his power on Abyei and nothing
remains to safeguard the army in Abyei. They are under our shadow and
sooner than later they SAF will smell the war's beautiful flowers.
Thanks, Mr. Mabor Yiel, Yirol, South Sudan
Why remember Equatoria SPLA officers? Dear Editor, may I clearly state
that this Mr. Isaiah Abraham is someone who has lost touch with
realities, by him bringing the Army officers of Equatoria in the front
in his writing shows how malicious he is as has been shown in his
total support of the events on the ground knowing very well that
things are gloomy. The Equatorian officers were and have been
forgotten during and after the liberation. Why this time remember some
of the Equatorians who were forgotten and even locked in for several
years. Mr Isaiah, your game is known and your last card is not a
winning one. God bless you, Dr Andy Musrusal, South Sudan
President Kiir defeats President Elbashir In an unprecedented
political and diplomatic speech by President Kiir regarding Abyei,
Kiir proved beyond doubt that he is a real state man that should be
respected by all including the notorious NCP and its military wing
Sudan Armed Forces (SAF). The prophets of doom wanted to see negative
reaction by President Kiir and SPLA regarding the unjustified action
of SAF in Abyei, but the wisdom of the day dictated the first
President of the nation of the people of South Sudan, H.E Salva Kiir
to act wisely. Indeed President Kiir knew very well that the move by
SAF to control Abyei, loot, burn and kill the innocent people of Abyei
was a premeditated action meant to derail the independence of South
Sudan soon to be announced in 9th July 2011.
Bravo President Kiir, you have not only defeated President Elbashir
politically and diplomatically, but you have also made him very
irrelevant in the contemporary history of Sudan. Your wise and
well-articulated speech has sent shocking waves to all those who
wanted to see south Sudan in chaos always.
Let Elbashir and his party continue to violate the CPA, loot and burn
down tukuls of innocent people of Abyei. This is the normal attitudes
of those soldiers who do not understand or adhere to the basic
principle of humanity despite the fact that all of them are either
professors or PhD holders according to Dr. Khalid Elmubarak of
Sudanese Embassy in London. Abyei is being burn down, looted and its
civilians killed by SAF soldiers who are highly educated accordingly
to Dr. Elmubarak. Let SPLA soldiers who are illiterate according to
Dr. Khalid; let them remain clam as they are now and that major
difference between the two shall be permanently recorded in the book
of history.
When the CPA was signed, more than ninety percent of the total surface
area of South Sudan was under control of SPLA. Not only that, but SPLA
managed to keep hundreds of prisoners of war for more than twenty
years without humiliating or killing any of them. That is the major
difference between SPLA and SAF dear Dr. Khalid Elmubarak. SPLA
soldiers do not kill civilians, they do not kill enemy soldier who is
captured alive in the battle. SPLA do not burn down tukuls or loot
properties of civilians. There is major difference in attitudes and
behaviours between SPLA and SAF dear Dr. Khalid Elmubarak regardless
of the degree of literacy or illiteracy here and there. Discipline
your soldiers in Abyei so that they match the word literate, as you
would like to describe them. Dr. Thuou Loi Cingoth, South Sudan
