What you probably want is for these settings to apply to all programs. To do this, press the jaws/insert key and f2. Press s twice to get to "settings", and press enter. Press control-alt-d, and press enter. JAWS will respond with "default jcf". Now make your changes you described below, and you should be good to go. To save those default settings, press control s or press alt f4 to exit, and answer yes to the save prompt.

If you later fine that you want different settings for a particular program, then follow these steps.

* Start the program for which you want to change the jaws defaults.

* Repeat the above steps, except do not perform the control-alt-d command; this makes the settings specific only to the program you just opened.

I want to adjust the voice, rate of speed and read all punctuation settings.
I did this successfully with Outlook and Internet Explorer, but it didn't go
to word. Can't figure it out. Any help will be appreciated. Judith

Judith, it seems that you wanted to change punctuation setting. If you
still don't have it, I'll send you step-by-step. Let me know.

I just went through the jaws options and couldn't find anything about Jaws
residing in system tray. Can anyone tell me how to get Jaws into the
system
tray? Thanks, Judith

Maybe you haven't checked the box in JAWS options to have JAWS reside in
the
system tray.

Sure its jaws related. I get a list of jaws keystrokes but no options or
voices.

Is what you get when you press ins+j at least jaws related? Just saying
you
get something else isn't much help on that point.

I just tried accessing jaws settings so I can set it to announce all
punctuation. With insert J I'm not getting the usual list of things
to go to like options where I can access voices. Instead I'm getting
a list of other things that aren't applixcable right now. I also want
to set it to announce all spelling errors on a line. It's an editing
thing. Can anyone help? Thanks, Judith
