If you used PowerSwitch II, you should look at BottleRocket. With about $20 of X10 gear and no soldering, you can get the same effect. And yes, it's tested to work well with the Duet.
It's disappointing, true, not to have the IR out, but I don't think it's all that bad. To me, the Receiver seems ideal for "hidden" installations, and in hidden installations, I think you'd probably want to use the SBR's volume control. If you can see your gear, buy a Squeezebox Classic so you can see what's playing. I am sure there are many for whom the extra $ for the Classic is prohibitive (just as many of us cannot find the $ for a Transporter), but I cannot imagine using a Squeezebox day-to-day without a Now Playing display that I can see across the room (well, I use Michael's MusicInfoScr, but same basic idea). Now Playing is no big deal if I queue up a favorite album, but it's nice for Random Mix surprises, and darn near essential for Internet Radio. -- peterw http://www.tux.org/~peterw/ free plugins: http://www.tux.org/~peterw/#slim AllQuiet BlankSaver BottleRocket FuzzyTime SaverSwitcher SleepFade StatusFirst SyncOptions VolumeLock ------------------------------------------------------------------------ peterw's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2107 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=43607 _______________________________________________ jive mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/jive
