For my X10 solution, you need 1) a CM17A "firecracker" X10 RF transmitter -- $8 + S&H on eBay 2) a TM751 RF receiver/powerline transceiver/appliance module -- $6 + S&H on eBay 3) my free BottleRocket plugin. The latest "beta" versions for SlimServer 6.5 and alpha versions for SqueezeCenter 7 include Windows support -- I ought to update my web info page to reflect that, and include Squeezebox Controller screenshots.
If your SC7 host is too far from your amp, you may need to buy an additional appliance module (like the X-10 AM486, $6 + S&H on eBay) and place the TM751 close enough to the SC7 host that it can receive the RF signals from the firecracker and relay them as powerline signals that the AM486 can respond to. If your SC7 host is pretty close to the amp, the TM751 itself acts as an appliance module. If you were not running SC7 on Linux or Windows, or not running SC7 on standard Intel hardware, you would need to obtain or compile a 'br' program -- in addition to including ready-to-run versions of 'br' for Linux and Windows on Intel hardware, the BottleRocket plugin includes the 'br' source code. -- peterw http://www.tux.org/~peterw/ free plugins: http://www.tux.org/~peterw/#slim AllQuiet BlankSaver BottleRocket FuzzyTime SaverSwitcher SleepFade StatusFirst SyncOptions VolumeLock ------------------------------------------------------------------------ peterw's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2107 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=43607 _______________________________________________ jive mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/jive
