I would like feedback from people regarding the cartoon rendering in Jmol. The rockets/arrows rendering that is currently in Jmol was intended to be temporary.
(Note that the rockets for helix representation are in the wrong position) At some level, I would like to be RasMol/Chime compatible ... but higher quality rendering. Q: Should the word 'cartoons' be reserved for something that is (essentially) RasMol/Chime compatible? Q: Is there a standard definition of what a 'schematic' representaion should look like? Q: What shapes would people like to see for cartoons/schematic rendering? Q: Is there value in having the something like the current simplified cartoon rendering (with straight arrow-sheets and straight rockets for helices) ? Q: other thoughts/comments?
