That is definitely the case for me.  In the past I would have
committed this and change our code to use it _before_ asking for buy
in, since I was a despot for the most part.  That I feel strongly
about my opinion on this issue, but still will respect the final vote
(even if it hurts ;) ), means that ultimately I feel the ASF way is
best for this project and its community.
