When I reviewed the other companies using the phrase JSecurity, I didn't think any of them posed a trademark conflict with JSecurity. Of course I'm not a lawyer, but I definitely support pushing this to the Apache legal team and getting a firm answer on whether or not JSecurity is problematic before we decide to change the name.

I am also of the opinion that JSecurity is still the best name on the table.

I am only a user, but I agree with the last statement. Personally, I much prefer the JSecurity name to the other options presented. And I must admit I am a bit confused at this point... a google search of other names like Alcatraz seems to reveal several companies and security related products - not much different than you get searching for JSecurity.

What is it that makes the name Alcatraz less dangerous than JSecurity?

Fort is pretty funny. I can't imagine anyone who grew up in the USA being able to say Apache Fort. I'm sure it would always come out as Fort Apache.

I like Alcatraz best among the recent suggestions. (I think it is unfortunate that JSecurity is being abandoned.)
