It doesn't matter. The only stable plugins for source control on Eclipse are for CVS or SVN. So, Perforce is not an option.

What!? I know I saw a Perforce plugin for Eclipse (Though I don't know whether it was on the Perforce site or elsewhere. Guess I'll have to look again).

I said *stable*. As in, "Doesn't cause Eclipse to crash every 15 minutes or lock the repository 1 in every 3 operations." It may have improved since last I looked, though. The jump in stability for Eclipse from 3.1 to 3.2 was *huge*. 3.1 was a useful but annoying IDE. 3.2 is usable for real work.

I'm sure there is a Perforce plugin. But the combination of fee and instability cuts it off. Especially *fee*. As a lecturer, I am an agent of the University. I do not qualify for exemptions that do not already exist and have no authority to negotiate contracts.
