Percentages aside, if the publishers did not benefit, do you think the authors would stand a chance? They're able to benefit *because* the publishers can benefit. You seem to be saying that copyright as it stands now does not benefit authors, that 99% of creative people make no money from copyright, and therefore they must be creating for some reason other than financial gain. Your conclusion is that if we take away the copyright, it will not affect the authors' creativity.
