I really like W. T. Jones's _A History of Western Philosophy_. It comes in four (five?) volumes. The second one is "The Medieval Mind". It discusses Western philosophy in the Middle Ages, which is overwhelmingly *Chrisitan* philosophy. All the way from the early beginnings to its effect on Medieval European minds. It's interesting to see how the fall of the Roman empire affected Christian thought, by suddenly making worldly power available to priests, for example. W. T. Jones is an excellent writer.
Besides, there are some very good practical and ethical arguments that come to the same conclusions as most religions through the power of logical thought. It's time to start applying them.
Wow! Now *this* is a point whose time has come. I've thought this before, I think, but I've never really vocalized it. It's not always Christian thought that should be opposed, but the methods they use to come to them. Method matters! -todd -- [email protected] http://www.kernel-panic.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/kplug-list
