With covers on, it is considerably quieter -- I would guess tolerable in LR and maybe even BR. I think it may be using a smart PS fan controller. The cpu fan is I think still detectable in a ultra quiet room, though. The slot-mounted fan is super quiet, so adding that would not noticeably increase noise level, I think. Further fedback: --------------- The intel video and intel (HD) sound and maybe the RTL8101E cause some hiccups to some distros (I've been trying live CDs), but collectively those problems seem solved.
