I have the U-Family package with the Internet bundle, my experience so far:
- Internet runs really nice, no issues. While the system was configured I was speaking with the tec about IP related networking and asked him to disable any outgoing ports (email, work related, etc) that I'll need, he called his manager and the guy over the line agreed without any problem. The TV system depends on the 2Wire WAP to connect to the network and sync with ATT. Turning off the WAP turns off your TV signal. - TV service: I have 2 box receivers (1 of which is a DVR), so far I've been able to record 3 channels while watching different channels on each TV (that's a total of 5 channels). - HD: I bought a really nice and price savvy 42" HDTV on Wallmart for X-mas (that's the reason why I got the U-verse), and ESPN HD looks terrific!. I don't have the HD package contracted, but they send once in a while other channels programming on HD. I have only one HD TV so I can't comment on receiving 2 HD at the same time. I believe you get 3 tuners in the server box for your home and that means 3 video streams. It would not surprise me if they do not direct more than one stream to a set-top-box and instead use these streams for driving unique TV sets. ===========End of original message text=========== -- [email protected] http://www.kernel-panic.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/kplug-list
