Which version of Xubuntu did you install (Desktop CD or Install CD)?
How did you get the XO to boot into the installation?

I think I read somewhere that the SD card shows up as an additional HDD, and that one may use a magic key-press to get the XO to boot from that drive.

I just picked up an SD card at Costco today so I could try such an install.
