I didn't find anything about problems with the WRT54GL specifically, only the WRT54GS and WDS frames. But I installed OpenWRT/X-WRT (Kamikaze 7.09) on my GL and the XO can again connect using WPA2.

it was WDS related but I'd thought it had to do with the default firmware
in the WRT54 products, not just one model. IIRC, the solution was to
install one of the open firmwares which allowed turning off the forwarding
of WDS packets. Sounds like you got it dialed in though.

I may have spoken too soon. While I was able to initially connect to the WRT54GL+OpenWRT, I can't anymore. I suspect that the problem lies in some file which has changed in the XO itself. IOW, a network related file has probably been modified post-connection to my AP, and now needs cleaning up.

I'll have to rummage around in the file system to see if I can find it. Accessing a WPA2 network still works okay, just not through that router. I can connect fine through my D-Link Pocket Router.

BTW, have you ever tried SSH'ing into your XO? Trying to read that really really small console text is not making my eyes happy.
