You can tell me, I'm just not going to listen to you. I used both forms of trackball for the better part of a year each. This is not a "I tried it for 2 days and didn't like it". There is a significant gesture and hotkeys component to the software I use that means I don't have to move my hand off of the mouse.

It's a shame that circular/pie wedge menus don't seem to ever catch on outside of games. They really have a big advantage in muscle memory.

I'm starting a job next month in a shop that loaded with artists and modelers. It'll be interesting to see what they all use (tablets maybe?)

Absolute motion is interesting. I've never tried it for that long, but I generally liked it when I used it. It does require quite a bit of desk real estate.
