And 99% of the gaming industry does not use C++, anymore. They use C++
for the *engine*. Everything else is scripted. For example, take a
look at Civ IV. C++ graphics engine--Python scripting engine. That's
fairly common.
Yeah I know all about how Civ IV uses Python. But I never extrapolated
that to every game being made. I still don't.

Sorry, if C++ is the bottom of the suckage scale, Java is a *long* way
up. Java and Perl are approximately equal in suckage. Perl kicks Java
all over creation for 100 line programs, but Java kicks Perl all over
creation for 1000+ line programs.
And Python and C# beat all of them for 1000+ line programs.
Python probably beats all of them for 100+ line programs and once you
realize that, it's not really worth it to screw around with Perl just
so your would-be-50-line program can be obfuscated down to 10.
