I do agree with what Sue has said. When I was a new lacemaker part of my
reason for attending lace days was to meet other lacemakers. The class
that I joined in London was mostly Japanese girls over in the UK for a
couple of years accompanying their husbands and they didn't socialise
outside their own group. Now that I'm no longer in need of acquiring
lace tools I still go to meet other lacemakers, see what everyone else
is working on and of course have to support the suppliers who are there.
