Francis, Thank you so much for sharing your experiences. I laughed and laughed, and was all so true! Those of us who have lived all our lives in the US forget how different anc difficult it can be.
I expecially liked your comments about "short" distances. My Dad tells a funny story about how hard it was to convince the German engineers that would come to Chicago for a business trip that it was really not possible to drive to New Orleans for dinner.
