I have configured dvips to use ps fonts (bakoma) for cm and ams. Using - scalable_fonts option or not, changing dvips_mode to deskjet or ljfour and metafont_dpi to 300 or 600, and setting finally extra_image_scale to 1.5, 2 or more do not give a so nice result.
