Just one (maybe silly) question: are there any free, easy to use ssh
toolkits for Klix? Or even Java (which is what I'd be in favour of - I've
made the mistake of using brand new versions/ports of programming languages
before, and I don't intend to do so again)?

I'd say that's one of the huge advantages of some console-program (hey, one
can even make decent interfaces on the console) - since it runs on the
server, one doesn't have to worry about the ssh connection.

The same problem would be true of using a web-based solution - I'm not aware
that weblet can use ssl, and I doubt that any of the smaller http-servers
can either (correct me if I'm wrong).

Absolutely - but non-commandline doesn's necessarily mean some x-interface.
Granted, to the average windows user, anything less than 1024x768 with 16k
colors _seems_ like a command line ;-) (no offense to anybody - I'm a
"windows user" as well).

Just my 2 cents.
