After posting my original message about layer 2 bridging, I searched message archives on the internet. I found a message that said layer 2 bridging would not work on Wisp-Dist with cards based on the prism chip set. This could have been a very old message.

It's the opposite, layer 2 bridging works *only* with Prism-based cards.


Anyhow, my pcmcia cards ARE based on the prism chip set, so it is possible that this is a known problem and I have not read as much as I should have.

Configuration looks ok except that the IP address you using to br0 has a /32 netmask. That means that it wouldn't able to communicate. How do you check connectivity?


Did you try running tcpdump? Do both access points use the same frequency?
