The buyback option at a pre-determined price has expired on Thorp Arch. This was why the Trust tried to assist the club in a buyback, and the option period ended with the farce of Bates attempting shifting blame onto the Council.
All of the provisions of the option on ER "should" still be in force unless nefarious steps have been taken to circumvent it. Bates could still be the most recent "landlord" and he would achieve this by purchasing the shares in Teak (which has undeclared share ownership).
