Interesting. Even your failure is not consistent. I had initially suspected 
things like not enough hard drive space, lack of user permission, and a few 
others but the way you describe it seems to rule those out. I also would 
suspect some kind of conflict with another program which seems plausible 
especially when things work upon an immediate reboot but even that seems 
inconsistent according to your info.

Dunno. Anyone else got some ideas?

Thanks for the help.

1.  When I shut down Legacy I get the option to backup.  I select that,
the back up fails and the program shuts down.
2.  When I reboot, go directly to Legacy, open it and without doing
anything else shut it down, I get the option to back up, the backup
succeeds (although the last time I tried this the backup failed) and
Legacy shuts down.
3.  I already did the reinstall option and it worked Ok for a day or two
and it then resumed the described behavior.
