Oh please don’t Bill!! Scotland is a country, as is England, France etc etc.
The only thing that is wrong is a system that tells you that all locations obey the 4 field rule. Ie everywhere is the same as the USA. We in the UK have accepted for a long time that we just have to put our locations in correctly and accept that the software thinks we are wrong. We are not wrong and we should enter data in the most meaningful way possible – very similarly to the way you would put it on an envelope (where you would never write Great Britain, GB, UK etc). The Geo database is USA centric and that is a shame. The users don’t have to be Jack From: Bill Wood [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: 17 January 2010 04:42 To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [LegacyUG] Mapping Physical Locations in Legacy Thankyou Elizabeth - I will try your suggestion and put Scotland in as a State with United Kingdom as the Country and see if the Towns are then recognised. I dont think my Grandad would be impressed with Scotland being demoted from Country to State - but that can be our secret .....
