I have seen this problem before and agree that monitor resolution and/or font setting is the culprit. I would guess that just about everyone having this problem has upgraded their monitor.
It can be fixed by changing the appearance screen on the display properties. Right click on the desktop and, select properties. On the appearance tab, change the font size to normal. On the setting tab, select Advanced. It should be set to normal (96 DPI.) This should take care of the problem. If the font is too small to read comfortably, use the DPI setting to increase the font size. I have mine set at large size (120 DPI) If you change the settings, you may have to re-boot your computer for the change to take effect. I hope this helps...
