Can't say I agree. My display settings are as you say, but the pop-up window
problem exists anyway. My desktop monitor has not changed for the past 3 or 4
years - my laptop settings have never changed.

On my 2 systems, the pop-up window problem began with the upgrade to 7.4.
Prior to 7.4, a smaller pop-up window appeared, but the font was smaller than
the main window font and fit inside that pop-up window and was readable. Now,
a similar sized window appears, but the font size is the same as the main
window, so it is too large for the pop-up window and is cut-off horizontally or
squished vertically. When it corrects, a much larger pop-up window appears and
all text is readable but there is also a lot of blank space - the font size
doesn't change.

The correction occurs by switching to pedigree view, then back to family view -
but you have to do that once each time Legacy loads. It doesn't correct if you
change to descendant, chronology or index view, interestingly enough (or the
home or research tabs either). It will also correct by switching to maximized
window, then back to a sizable window, but just adjusting the size of a sizable
window hasn't given me any joy.

It appears to me that the main problem is the font size which should adjust
automatically for the smaller pop-up window, rather than having the pop-up
window increase to such a large size. I've found that by limiting the max font
size to 14 (Customize->Font), I can live with the problem without having to
re-size, but, for children pop-ups, the name of the bride is always cut off
horizontally.

A related issue, also new since 7.4. If I open Legacy in a maximized window,
then choose a sizable window, the window contracts to less than 1/4 of the
screen and virtually all the text appears squished or cut off, even though my
normal sizable window setting is quite a bit larger. It's an easy job to
re-size, but it shouldn't happen - it should remember the sizable window
setting. (On the other hand, if I open in a sizable window, then maximize,
then revert to sizable, Legacy does remember the sizable window setting, which
is normal). Of all my programs, this occurs only with Legacy and only since
7.4.

This all suggests to me that the bug is within Legacy, not font or other
computer settings, new monitors or the like. My systems are XP and Vista.

I have seen this problem before and agree that monitor resolution
and/or font setting is the culprit. I would guess that just about
everyone having this problem has upgraded their monitor.

It can be fixed by changing the appearance screen on the display
properties. Right click on the desktop and, select properties. On
the appearance tab, change the font size to normal. On the setting
tab, select Advanced. It should be set to normal (96 DPI.) This should
take care of the problem.

If the font is too small to read comfortably, use the DPI setting to
increase the font size. I have mine set at large size (120 DPI)

If you change the settings, you may have to re-boot your computer for
the change to take effect.

I hope this helps...
