Wm,

The font size Legacy uses is based on the height of the window not on
the width of the screen. If you make any screen in Legacy too narrow for
all the text on a line to show then the line will be truncated at the
end of the screen. It is very difficult to calculate a font size based
on the width of the screen because each line will contain a different
number of characters and, with variable width fonts, the width of the
letters is not a constant value. The pop up box for the parent section
uses the width of the parent box. For children the pop up can use more
width because the area for the children list is larger.

My interpretation of the "squished" in this subject is that some people
are seeing either a situation where the lines in the pop up boxes are
not fully visible because the top or the bottom of the fonts are not
displayed or where there is an overlap between lines because the space
between the lines in the pop up is insufficient. I have not been able to
duplicate that problem. Every time I change the height of my Legacy
family view to change the font size in the family view then try to open
the pop up boxes the font size in the pop up box matches the font size
in the family view. I did see some cases where the space between lines
was much larger than the standard but in no cases were the lines
overlapped nor were there cases where the font height was too large for
the lines.
