Why? This mail list is a free service provided by Millenia. The administration of this list is their business, not ours. And before anyone suggests that we are just trying to point fingers, it's not about that at all. I think all us Luggers (Lugheads?) need to know what is going on with the server so that we can properly advise other users experiencing similar difficulties. It is not our job to advise anybody regarding subscription problems. As list readers we have no control over it nor any ability to do anything about it. The best we can do is advise them to contact Millenia as Millenia is the only one that can assist in this area. ISN'T THAT WHY THIS GROUP WAS ESTABLISHED? No. This group was established to discuss Legacy and Legacy add ons. Withholding such info by Millennia is counter-productive. As it stands right now, I don't think any of us can help any user with email problems simply because we are not being informed about what is right or what is wrong with the list server. You are correct. None of us can help any user with their email problems, unless you are an administrator of the list with administrator privileges. If their problem is with their ISP or email client I am sure Millenia will help them sort it out, off list. And that means we should be afraid of giving wrong, misleading, or useless advice or else the user could think we are attacking their intelligence (as recently happened). The correct response should have been that we are simply users and all questions regarding list subscription problems should be directed to Millenia as they are the ONLY ones who can do anything about list administration problems. I'm really beginning to see the problem from the viewpoint of the OP and think he was not all that wrong. I just wish he could have seen our viewpoint in that we seem to have been kept in the dark. If he had been directed to the right place to ask that would have never occurred. I think, however, that he was going to leave anyway, given his attitude from the start. Someone with LegacyFamilyTree.com in their email address needs to respond. If you ask them, they will respond. An email to [email protected] will be routed to the proper person, I am sure. > Brian in CA > Mushroom Class of 2010 I am not advocating NOT helping people, just pointing them in the right direction instead of guessing without having the inside information that an administrator has. -- Gene Y. http://myyoungs.atspace.com/index.htm Researching Young, Zies, Harer & Cox with Legacy Family Tree Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp To unsubscribe: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/LegacyLists.asp
