To add to what Kristen has suggested, use the sample database to experiment 
and/or be sure to back up your file before experimenting on your real data.

Your core question isn’t clear to me, but there’s very little you can do in 
Legacy that will “mess things up.”  Granted, some things are more tedious to 
change than others (sources, for example), but the Master Location List is 
among the easiest to revise because of the Show List option and the ability to 
make global changes.  The ability to sort locations in several different 
sequences is also extremely helpful.



Don’t be afraid to experiment, and don’t expect to have everything perfect at 
the outset.  There are probably very few of us who haven’t decided at some 
point to change a particular data entry scheme.
