In a word, yes. Whenever a work is created it is the copyright of the person who created it. A work can be a photograph, painting, poem, novel or this email. If you need to ask the question, you already know the answer or suspect what it is, therefore, it is always best to ask the copyright holder if you can use the information. Nine tenths of the time you will be allowed to do so, so long as you acknowledge the source.
