Legacy's backup procedure saves two separate "zip"=compressed files, data and media. When doing a "restore", both files are needed.

The zipped data file can be saved to the Legacy cloud and to the same hard drive as the program is on, or to an external drive.

The zipped media file can NOT be saved to the Legacy cloud. It can be saved to the same hard drive as the program is on, or to an external drive.

I want to be able to save the backup zip file of Legacy Media files at OneDrive. To use if my computer dies, etc. Then would install Legacy to the new computer, copy the media zip file from OneDrive to the new computer, unzip it, and add the media files to the Legacy media folder. I can get the "data" files from the Legacy cloud backup.

I already save a copy of photo files to Google Drive for free. Not the highest resolution, but should be OK if needed. I also backup the Legacy zip files of data and media to two external hard drives. But, if all the files in our house are lost in a fire or tornado, the data base could be re-created from the cloud files.

Gedcom files can also be made to save our data, but will not save media. Any Legacy update could destroy our existing Legacy data...

I only use my Legacy data on my home computer. Do not want to access it any other way!

Hope this is correct and makes sense to everyone.

I just need help with the OneDrive install and setup as previously indicated. My old brain can not seem to follow the instructions I have found so far!

As I recall, the major complication is that you cannot copy a folder with its subfolders to OneDrive.

It is complicated, so I will let someone more knowledgeable detail the procedure.

Do you want to backup up a restore file that includes the media files inside the legacy file so that when you restore it the media files are included? If so that is what I would like to know. But - - - - would this be creating the same type of backup as you get when you back up to the Legacy cloud WITHOUT the media files? Or would you be backing up a gedcom file to onedrive.
So let me rephrase:
Can you and if so how do you:
1. Backup your legacy files so that all the media files are included.
2. How would you restore that backup from onedrive instead of from the legacy cloud and is this possible?

That means leaving the media files where they are, not putting
them in OneDrive. No extra words, just "Step 1, Step 2", etc.

Millennia (Legacy) would have omitted backup of media files
because they are large, and some users may have hundreds of Mb up
to GB of storage requirements for their media files.

But everyone has _Windows_ – any version has the free gift from
Microsoft of *OneDrive* – which is a more than adequate amount of
    cloud storage.

While it does require a step-by-step ‘recipe’ for users to set
the Legacy FT backup location to other than the defaults, over
the past year I have seen instructions here on how to change to
the location of choice for any individual. That has included
    Dropbox (another ‘cloud’ location).
