I am used to LSynth. There is ne real length control. You just place 
your start, stop and control points that define local position and 
direction, and LSynth manages the rest (you don't even specify stiffness 
of your flex stuff, sometimes lacking). It is up to the user to make 
something plausible.

It works rather well, the thing really missing is an interactive process 
(LSynth is a batch one...)

And yes, having some output compatibility with LSynth is imho a must!
