One is reminded of the neo-cons and the republicans and
liberventionists who whine about the United State constitution not
being a "suicide pact" and then insist that the United State
constitution contains the very language which allows (primarily,
executive branch of) the government to destroy it. It is they who are
arguing that the constitution is a "suicide pact", while the rest of
us are arguing that the constitution is enduring, not a "living,
changing" document.
