John, I'm very active. I don't need to defend what it is I do in the political arena in order to take a principled stand against the redistribution of wealth and the anti-property rights that are the hallmark of US (federal and local) government today. Whether it's huge defense budgets and hundreds of billions in borrowing, or tiny little programs which are paid for by the fruit of my labor without my permission, it's anti-liberty. What I find interesting is that after several emails defending your favorite program, you finally resort to the usual statist line that if I don't like it, I should get active and get on the horn with my congress critters and tell them to stop spending money that way. I take it that means that anything that is approved by Congress is perfectly appropriate because we didn't object to it enough? Did you get involved and take action when Bush was "appointed"? Or are you just crying us a river? >>As for selling away all your rights, you have ALREADY lost your rights to >>privacy, protection against illegal wiretaps, free speech and protection >>against illegal seach and seizures. Did you make a peep??? I think not. Bush >>has wiped his butt with that lil' document called the Constitution, and I'd >> expect he will just keep on going till he is stopped. Apparently you know what I've done. Have you made a peep, John? I'm not worried about what the Ute receive. What I know is that the government that can take my money to give to the Ute can take whatever it wants from me to give to whomever it pleases. In the scheme of things, the Ute treaty is miniscule, I agree, but the very fact that I'm paying for it means that I am responsible for whatever else Congress decides I should pay for. You said you'd be honest, but you delivered strawmen again. Tell me honestly, John, if you are a libertarian, where do you draw the line on what property and income is appropriate for the government to take from the taxpayer. >>Really? Hows about you tell me WHY privately owned land is a different >>story? I think the answer would be very entertaining. land is You don't believe in private property? There is noone alive today who acquired land from the Ute through coercion. Tell me how that is entertaining. [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ------------------------ Yahoo!
