John,
The first part of solving any problem is correctly assessing it:
understanding its causes and effects, etc. If the problem stems
from simple lack of information, and chances are it does, then
disseminating information is a large part of the solution. There
seems to always have been a severe lack of education about
liberty. What is it? Do we fully understand it? OOH, no, of
course not - we never have (had it). OTOH, that's exactly the
problem; we know enough to know we don't have enough. As we are
learning more about individual liberty, we are seeing more of
what we do not have (and have lost). A solution is not possible
if the problem is not sufficiently addressed; "whining" yes, but
a necessary first step.
To a large degree, the govt only gets away with what the people
allow; since the govt thrives off exacerbation of public fears.
In the same degree, the govt is only a representation of popular
prejudice. Get rid of those public prejudices and you also get
rid of govt oppression and corruption; no revolution necessarily
needed. Govt will never be reduced as long as people's attitudes
and beliefs are not changed. In this sense, WE are our own enemy.
So, interpersonal discussion is essential for changing
fundamental philosophies and improving our world. That's where it
all starts. As any teacher should know: essentially, it's all
information.

{American jurors have complete Constitutional authority to vote
"not guilty" based on nothing more than a disagreement with the
case, no matter the evidence - despite the judge's instructions.
There is absolutely no obligation to vote "guilty" to arrive at a
unanimous verdict. Get on a jury, stand your ground, and fulfill
its other main purpose: to counteract abusive government and
unjust lawsuits.

Let me ask two things Mark....
WHAT do you suggest is a solution? The way I see it, see it, we
have been
glued screwed and tatoo'd for decades now....are you suggesting
that the
people will rise up and change things one day? I doubt that will
ever
happen. Heck, the American people didn't even ger out of their
barka
loungers when it turned out we invaded a country for no real
reason. I
personally think it will take something so extreme, so
devistating to wake
them up and inspire them to take even the smallest action as to
be
nightmarish. Something like the government taking away the Cable
TV access
and cutting the electric in the summer enough to stop the air
conditioning!
MAYBE something like blocking American Idol or WHo Wants To Marry
A
Millionare!
OK..,.sarcasm aside, are you suggesting a revolution? What ARE
you
suggesting? Cause if you do not have an idea of how to solve
these
problems....and so far I do not agree with all solutions but DO
agree with
the premise behind them.....then this is just people talking.
