I'm not convinced that going backward is the way to go. I'm not even convinced that it's possible to go backwards, and certainly not convinced that it's a Good Thing. I agree that we need to reduce the size and scope of the state, but I'm afraid that too much rhetoric about 'going back' or 'rolling back' , while it has a certain nostalgic appeal, will be viewed by many folks as an attempt to reinstate some of the EVILS of those times rather than the good aspects.
