Let me summarize my political position. I want to go back to the horse and
buggy days but I want to
keep my car (and few other devices, including my computer).

For life and liberty,

I'm not convinced that going backward is the way to go. I'm not even
convinced that it's possible to go backwards, and certainly not
convinced that it's a Good Thing. I agree that we need to reduce the
size and scope of the state, but I'm afraid that too much rhetoric
about 'going back' or 'rolling back' , while it has a certain
nostalgic appeal, will be viewed by many folks as an attempt to
reinstate some of the EVILS of those times rather than the good
  aspects.

Not sure what the best way through this rhetorical minefield *is*, but
it's something to be aware of.
