I pay for public education, healthcare, prisons, uninsured motorist, and other costs that illegal immigrants use beyond the proportion for which they pay. Some of my payments are through taxes paid for government services, while others are increases in my private sector insurance rates to cover the illegals. I work hard and pay high taxes, so the burden is disproportionately on people like me. I'm confident someone out there is thinking I should blame the government, not the illegal immigrants. Sure. But the government acts according to the will of the voters, so I really should blame them. In any case, the welfare state isn't going away anytime soon, so the blame game argument is purely academic. The welfare state exists, and illegal immigrants tend to use it. Also, the illegal immigrants know quite well they are stealing services not intended for them. They have no right to take that which is not theirs.
