What is the evidence that you are subsidizing "illegal" immigrants, rather than
they subsidizing you? Perhaps they pay taxes but do not apply for benefits out
of fear of being deported. Or maybe you are subsidizing "illegals" to no
greater extent than any people of similar income. If this latter is true, then
the problem is the welfare state generally and not a problem of illegals. A
"war on illegals" will turn into a war on Americans, just as the war on drugs
has, and will be just as successful, and for the same reasons--where there are
strong economic incentives, no government on earth can hold back the tide.
