For those having a keyboard allowing to type them directly eg in France with
standard azerty keyboard, you got the right quote by typing 3 key. (to have the
character key we must type shift-3 or use numpad if we got one).

Anyway re-reading a bit Wikipedia page and it seems “ / ” are English quotes.
So it means typing twice < or > (what we call in French "chevron") should be
just replaced by « and » instead of “ and ”.

Sophie/Jean-Baptiste : ok with this?

By the way we could also make this even more explicit by translating:
"Remplacer 2 chevrons d'affilée, gauche ou droite, par des guillemets
français".
