You are NOT going to believe this, but... Have YOU put in a 9.5mm HDD into a L50? Because specifically the symptom I have noticed is... HDD spins, RAM test OK, nothing, nothing, nothing, "insert system disk"... And it starts intermittent and quickly goes to permanent.
